Oral Piercings

Oral Piercings

Piercings are becoming a popular sign of self expression. We just wanted to take a moment to let you know some affects that an oral piercing might have on your mouth. Tongue, lips or cheek piercings can cause: infection/swelling, nerve damage, excessive drooling and damage to teeth, gums or fillings.
If you do choose to get an oral piercing, the American Dental Association recommends: keeping the area clean and free of any matter that might collect, checking jewelry regularly for loose pieces, avoid clicking the jewelry against your teeth and remove the jewelry when engaged in sports or physical activity.
