As the summer approaches sports and activities will be picking up for kids! We recommend that everyone wear a sports guard while playing sports that involve moving objects.
A sports guard will help protect you against:
- damage to your jaw joint
- soft tissue injury
- lost teeth
- neck injuries
If you or your child does have a tooth knocked out, we recommend:
- pick up the tooth by the chewing surface (do not touch the root of the tooth)
- if the tooth is dirty, rinse it with water or milk, do not rub or dry it
- keep the tooth moist, preferably in a glass of milk
- call a dentist or endodontist within 30 minutes of the incident
