Does you or someone you know suffer from bad breath?
There are some treatable dental conditions that could be contributing to halitosis. Cavities and gum disease allow bacteria to hide in your mouth in areas that you cannot effectively clean at home. You at home care routine can only effectively clean 3 millimeters below your gum line. When you develop periodontal disease the pocket depth of your gums can extend past 3 millimeters and then your home care routine just won’t be sufficient enough. This means you are not removing all of the bacteria in your mouth and it results in bad breath. Having a frequent dry mouth can also play a role, as the saliva is what naturally cleanses your mouth between brushes. Sometimes medication can cause dry mouth and there are rinses and tablets that can help promote saliva.
